bones and flowers

A series inspired by my relationship with artist Tahimi Cugat, a Cuban visual artist and musician in Santiago de Cuba. Her use of "the cloth" and thread is a way of creating color and lines on a canvas when there is no access to paint or other materials. This body of work is a conversation between the two of us, creating new languages and finding the cultural relationships that feed the making of the work.
